CIP Cleaning System for Electrolyte Container

The CIP cleaning system from Kehui is purpose-built for safely removing residual LiPF₆ crystals, lithium salt deposits, and electrolyte films from closed process equipment. Unlike conventional aqueous-only methods, this CIP cleaning system integrates a solvent-assisted pre-rinse stage using recirculated DMC or EMC to hydrolyze sensitive lithium compounds before any water contact—preventing the formation of corrosive hydrofluoric acid. Designed for batch reactors, transfer lines, and filling heads, the system executes fully programmable sequences including solvent recovery, caustic wash, acid passivation, and heated nitrogen drying. All wetted paths feature PTFE diaphragms and Hastelloy sensors to withstand aggressive fluorine chemistry.

Product highlights of the CIP cleaning system for electrolyte containers:

  • Prevents HF formation – solvent pre-rinse removes LiPF₆ before water introduction

  • Reduces solvent consumption by 40% – closed-loop recovery and distillation-ready discharge

  • Achieves < 10 ppm residual lithium – verified by ion chromatography sampling

  • Cuts cleaning cycle by half – parallel processing of up to three vessels via zone valves

  • Extends equipment life – passivation step rebuilds chromium oxide layer on stainless steel

  • Remote recipe management – upload new protocols via Ethernet/IP for different salt types

Core technologies of CIP cleaning system for electrolyte container:

The system operates on a five-stage principle: (1) solvent flush – DMC/EMC recirculation at ambient temperature to dissolve and carry away LiPF₆; (2) solvent recovery – vacuum distillation to reclaim >85% of cleaning fluid; (3) alkaline wash – 2% KOH at 60°C to remove organic carbonates; (4) acid rinse – 1% citric acid to neutralize remaining alkali and passivate metal surfaces; (5) nitrogen drying – heated gas at 80°C with dew point monitoring below -40°C. A conductivity meter controls chemical concentration, while a platinum RTD manages thermal ramps. The PLC logs all parameters for FDA/cGMP traceability.

Production line configuration for CIP cleaning system for electrolyte container:

  • Solvent storage tank – 316L with PTFE lining, nitrogen blanket, level transmitter

  • Solvent recovery still – electrically heated, condenses vapor into reclaimed solvent drum

  • Alkali tank – jacketed, 100L capacity with agitator and conductivity probe

  • Acid tank – similar construction, dedicated for citric or nitric acid

  • Hot water tank – steam-heated, insulated, with automated fill valve

  • Diaphragm pump set – air-operated, PTFE wetted parts, flow rate up to 30 L/min

  • Spray ball manifold – rotating 360° heads for IBC totes and fixed nozzles for pipes

  • Instrumentation – pressure transmitter, three RTDs, dual conductivity meters, dew point sensor

  • Control panel – industrial PC with touch HMI, recipe storage for 5 container types, USB export

  • Exhaust scrubber interface – connects to facility caustic scrubber for HF vapor capture
